Rants and Raves

Witch hunt: “I think this deal with Trump’s son and the Russian lawyer is just another witch hunt. He said he didn’t get any usable information from her on Hillary. No dirt.

No government

“It would appear that at the moment, we don’t really have national government going on. What we have are scandals and circus. Taxpayers should be reimbursed for lack of performance.

Homeowner grants

“When will there be word about the homeowner grants for repairs be presented to the public? It was first reported back in January or February, but nothing since. Maybe I’ve missed the article detailing the qualifications, if so please update. If not, please can the paper find out . Thanks a concerned citizen.

Dear Democrat

“Dear Liberal Democrat:  Yes, anyone who opposes your opinions must be full of hate or bigoted or dumb or a combination of the three.  I should not have pointed out that Democratic Party rule of “the one that carries it gets to kill it” has led to the murder of 30 to 50 million aborted babies.  I’m sorry I can’t be full of love like you.

Term limits

“ If there ever was a time when it was evident that we are overwhelmed with politicians and in very short supply of statesmen, it is now. For some of these people it has become a game. ‘You tagged us last time, we’ll tag you this time!’ More and more we should see the need for term limits. It may not cure the problem, but maybe it could at least treat the symptoms.

Working fine

“I did some monitoring in my neighborhood and the garbage system with the roll-out cans seems to be working fine.

Crazy little man

“You may not be afraid of that crazy little man in North Korea but I’m very concerned that he may want to do more than ‘strut his stuff.’ Let’s say we do retaliate and wipe him off the face of the earth with a nuclear device. How does China and Japan figure into that? What about the innocent women and children who will die a horrible death either immediately or in years to come from the radiation exposure.

We devolve

“With reference to North Korea and their leader flexing his small muscles and the many acts of terrorism we see today: While we grow in technology, it seems that we as a race devolve when it comes to humanity. I’m reminded of that movie, ‘Planet of the Apes.’

Thanks

“Mr. Walden thanks for your column on Sunday. Indeed we can all be humbled in the blink of an eye. There is a family very close to me that has experienced tremendous health setbacks of various types. Like you said, life is not fair. My heart and my prayers are with that family.
