Saturday Prayer Walk to call attention to Turn2017 community revival
MOULTRIE, Ga. – The third and final Prayer Walk leading up to the April 22 Turn2017 community revival and evangelistic crusade will be held on Saturday at Mack Tharpe Stadium.
The walk will begin at 5 p.m.
The Rev. Tyler Tibbs of the First Church of the Nazarene will lead the walk.
The Prayer Walk, the Turn2017 community revival and the ninth annual community scripture reading that will be held April 10-14 on the Courthouse Square are all sponsored by the Colquitt County Pastors Prayer Group.
The Pastors Prayer Group‘s mission statement reads: The pastors and churches will join together in unified prayer and labor so that every man, woman, youth and child in Colquitt County will hear a compassionate and clear presentation of the Gospel and have an open opportunity to make Jesus Christ their Savior and Lord.
Other Prayer Walks were held on Feb. 11 and March 11 to call attention to the April 22 community revival.
The Turn2017 event will be held from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. April 22 on the Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium.
The speaker will be Pastor Terrence Jones, a former Colquitt Countian who is now the lead pastor at the Strong Tower at Washington Park in Montgomery, Ala.
Jones grew up in Norman Park, played quarterback for the Colquitt County High football team in 1998-1999 and went on to play at Tuskegee University. In May 2011, he earned his Master of Divinity Degree from The Master’s Seminary in California.
Following the program, a barbecue picnic will be served at the stadium.
Pastor John Eubanks of Friendship Alliance Church says plans are being made to serve some 2,500 people.
Thirty-seven churches and ministries are taking part in the program.
“Turn2017” comes from Acts 3:19: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”
