THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas University Library will kick off the spring 2017 TU Talk lineup with a presentation by Jack Hadley, founder of the Jack Hadley Black History Museum, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Hadley will present “Unsung Heroes of Black History Month” in the Flowers Foods Executive Classroom inside Smith-Bonvillian Hall on TU’s Forbes Campus.

Hadley, a Thomasville native, was born on Pebble Hill Plantation to the late Dennis and Rosetta James Hadley, who were employed on the plantation. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 28 years, retiring in 1984. Hadley also worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 12 years.

In his spare time, Hadley has always been an avid collector and curator of black history memorabilia. The Jack Hadley Black History Museum is the result of that effort and traces black Americans’ history from before slavery to the present day.
