Your Colquitt County Arts Center has a lot to celebrate these days. First of all we celebrated years of service to the Arts Center with Ashlee Parrish as curator/visual arts director and Kim Yarbrough as education/program director as they have each moved on to new opportunities in their lives. They will be missed and have left very big shoes to fill!

 However, we have filled those shoes with two ladies who bring so much to the table and we are excited to introduce them to you.

 Sunni Pike comes to us with curatorial experience from the Turner Center in Valdosta and the VSU Fine Arts Gallery. Sunni holds a Bachelor of Arts in Arts from Valdosta State University. Sunni grew up in the Arts Center United Way camps here at the Arts Center and is extremely excited to now be part of the staff.

 Teresa Reid comes back to her roots in Colquitt County after having taught in the North Georgia area since the mid ’80s. Teresa served as an educator and art education specialist in elementary schools and brings all of her experience to the position of education and program director.

 Please come by the Arts Center in the coming days and introduce yourself to these ladies and welcome them to our Arts Center family and community.

 The Arts Center also welcomes Rio Davies as a new instructor. Rio brings many skills and talents to the Arts Center and will be offering a variety of classes and workshops including wine glass painting, tattoo inspired art, cartoon drawing, lampshade painting and more.  The Arts Center is always looking for talented instructors to provide ongoing class instruction or workshops. Right now we are seeking a qualified dance instructor for our smallest ballerinas.

 We are also looking for artists, local talent and food vendors to participate in our annual Artoberfest which will take place on the Arts Center grounds on Saturday, October 12th from 10 AM until 4 PM. Artists are encouraged to participate for only $20 table rental.  Applications can be found on our website under the events tab. Members of the Artists Guild enjoy a free table for the event. There will be stage with local talents performing and hands on activities for children and adults to enjoy. ALL FREE thanks to the generous support of local dentists including:
