State champion Wildcat parade scheduled Tuesday

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta High School hosts a Parade of Champions Tuesday, Dec. 20, to honor the 2016 6A State Champion Valdosta Wildcat football team. Parade line up will begin at 3 p.m. on Brookwood Drive at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium, according to the school system. The parade will begin 4 p.m. and travel north up Patterson Street ending at Valdosta Middle School.

 

Suwannee Lights lasts through Christmas Eve

LIVE OAK, Fla. — Suwannee Lights at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park ends Saturday with its more than six million colored and clear lights on gorgeous Christmas displays. Also part of Suwannee Lights are nightly singing around the camp fire, hot chocolate, s’mores, meeting new and old friends, visiting the Crafts Village and meeting with Santa and his Elves in the Country Store. These events are sure to thrill youngsters of all ages along with the opportunity to drive through and take the walk-only tour at this beautiful camping music park on the banks of the Suwannee River. As you leave, be sure to snap a photo of the exit with its fabulous lighting along the exit road. Suwannee Lights runs from 6-10 p.m. each day with an entry fee at the gate.

 

Moultrie street to be dedicated to longtime city employee

MOULTRIE, Ga. — The public is invited to a short ceremony at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, on the south side of the Ryce Center, Third Avenue at Seventh Street Northwest, for the dedication of signs dedicating Seventh Street Northwest in honor of retired Recreation Department Supervisor Samuel Stewart.
