Colquitt Regional Home Care Services cuts ribbon at new location

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Colquitt Regional Home Care Services recently cut the ribbon on a new and improved location that will provide more space and resources to accommodate the growth they have experienced in patient volume.

Colquitt Regional Home Care Services, previously located at 2516 Fifth Avenue SE, is now located at 415 Rowland Drive, in the building that was formerly Suzanne’s Quilt Shop. The facility is newly renovated and allows all of the home health, hospice, and private duty staff to be under one roof and in a more familiar and accessible location.

“We are so proud to be in a newly renovated facility,” said Shana Thompson Wertz, Assistant Vice-President of Home Care Services. “As we continue to expand, this new building will accommodate our growing staff and the services that we provide for the Southwest Georgia region.

Colquitt Regional Home Care Services provides home health, hospice, and private duty services. Home Health assists patients with skilled nursing and rehabilitation needs. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are made available through collaboration with Vereen Rehabilitation therapists who visit patients in the home.

“While we are very excited for this new building, we know that the people in it are what make our Home Care Services exceptional,” said Hospital Authority Chairman Maureen A. Yearta, Ed.D. “They provide compassionate care to patients and their families on a daily basis and the lasting impact of that care is felt throughout the community.” Hospice allows patients with a terminal diagnosis to receive medical, emotional, spiritual and physical support in an effort to improve their quality of life. Private duty encompasses personal care, light housekeeping, medical preparation and errands for those who need assistance with daily activities in the home.

“Our Home Care Services branch is a crucial part of Colquitt Regional,” said Colquitt Regional CEO Jim Matney. “They allow us to provide a continuum of care that results in better health outcomes and for many patients it will keep them from needing additional hospitalization.”

Colquitt Regional is a 99- bed medical center located in Moultrie. Colquitt Regional Home Health provides a wide range of healthcare services to recovering, disabled and chronically ill patients in need of medical, nursing and rehabilitation treatment.
