Rants and Raves

Could care less: “I could care less if school teachers wear jeans, slacks or formal outfits. As long as kids are learning, that’s what counts. Let the teachers be comfortable. ‘Looking professional’ is in the eye of the beholder. There are more important things to worry about.

Tailgating

“Drivers of trucks are not the only people who tailgate. I think you may have oversimplified the matter. I’ve had compact cars nearly run up my exhaust.

Sleep aids

“Mr. Walden, thanks for the warning about sleep aids. I certainly don’t want to get up at night and clean the house without knowing it. My wife would be feeding me these pills by the spoonful.

Segregation?

“Segregation in schools? It’s my understanding that an elementary student can go to any elementary school they want. It no longer matters where you buy a house. By the time they are in sixth grade its ALL general population. 6-12 no segregation.

Doing great!

“Sunset is doing great! Doing better than expected is a very good thing. Sunset lead the entire district in having students on grade level at their mid year testing. I am thankful my child attends Sunset and for the hard work from the faculty, staff, and new administration! Like Dr. Purvis always says, The best is yet to come!

Good letter

“Thank you for your letter, Mr. Leigh! We appreciate you standing up to the BOE and facing down their lies, but you do know it’s the district office that does all this intentional misleading don’t you? The BOE is just a  rubber stamp of the district office’s policies! We need a change!

Beat the odds!

“We beat the odds, we beat the odds! Cox School done beat the odds! Don’t choke on this good news all you who criticize!

How much spent?

“Somebody needs to also ask how much money has been spent on the current ballfields at Packer Park. And how many times they have had to be redone at what cost because of moisture problems.

Spousal abuse

“On the issue of spousal abuse. I think data show that a wife will return to an abusive husband four or five times before learning that this behavior will not change. It’s sad that it takes that many times. But applause to Serenity House!
