In Psalm 18:49, David says he wants to tell the world around him about God. There is a problem; the world around him is not Jewish and they have no experience with the Bible… so he begins in Psalm 19 using the “natural Bible.” Maybe you realize that God has revealed himself to us in two ways; there is the “natural Bible” and there is the “written Bible.” And both are part of God’s revelation; the Latin prefix “re” means to “take away” and “velum” means “veil.” A revelation takes away the veil so that we can see

Maybe we were created to stand up and walk on two legs to make it easier for us to look up and comprehend the revelation; the word for man in Greek is “anthropos” which literally means “one who looks up.” They tell a story about Napoleon, who overheard his officers on a ship bragging about their atheism. He listened quietly for a few minutes, pointed up at the night sky, and asked, “Who made all that?”

Astronomers have identified twenty-five parts of creation required to support human life; it’s called the “anthropic principle.” If any of those twenty-five parts of the universe was altered, evenly slightly, life as we know it would cease to exist. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to know that a higher percentage of astronomers believe in God than any other scientific profession.

The moon is two hundred and forty thousand miles from our earth and the sun is ninety-three million miles from our earth. If either the moon or the sun were a hundred miles closer or farther away, life on our earth would not be possible.

And the ozone layer has been a major concern; it’s a thin layer of air forty miles above the earth. Without it, we would burn and broil and go blind in a few days! This earth was created to sustain life!

“How clearly the sky reveals God’s glory! How plainly it shows what he has done! Each day announces it to the following day; each night repeats it to the next. No speech or words are used, no sound is heard; yet their message goes out to all the world and is heard to the ends of the earth.

“God made a home in the sky for the sun; it comes out in the morning like a happy bridegroom, like an athlete eager to run a race. It starts at one end of the sky and goes across to the other. Nothing can hide from its heat.” (Psalm 19)

You should know, I don’t believe there is a God in spite of my scientific background; I believe in God because of my scientific background!
