Pastor’s anniversary

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its pastor’s third anniversary at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, with Friendship Baptist Church and its pastor, the Rev. Alfred Jones; at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, with St. James Freewill Baptist Church and its pastor, the Rev. Pernell Adams; and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, with White Rock Baptist Church and its pastor, Bishop Skipper. The Rev. Ellis Gudes is pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Plate sale

Faith Temple House of Prayer will sell plates with fried tilapia or fried chicken 10:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Sides include cheese grits, coleslaw, hush puppies and sweet potato pie. Cost is $7. The church is located at 407 Second St. N.W.
