LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Greyhound service brings back memories

Bus service is a time honored service — glad to see Greyhound has made the effort to serve Moultrie’s citizens. Its schedule is twice daily — seven days weekly. Its port, the Inter-modal facility.

This service will offer rides for all ages — Grandma will be able to visit her Grands. Excursions to the beach — even the Packer sports may be delivered in style when playing away. (Probably at less cost).

Memories of military inductees leaving Moultrie by Trailways Buses. Remembering Oct 2nd, 1956, I took the ride to Atlanta to the Induction center on Ponce de Leon Avenue, next door to Sears and Roebuck , across the street from the Atlanta Stadium. My return trip Sept. 29th, 1959, in reverse, Atlanta to Moultrie.

I recall using the bus service for quick delivery of needed supplies to jobsites in distance cities, usually the same day — for will call at the bus terminal.

I expect Moultrians will be surprised and pleased with Greyhound’s overall service.
