Rant and Rave for Oct. 1, 2019

Spoon control

“That knife rant retort got me to thinking about spoons. Yeah, spoons. Since 40,000 people die monthly from obesity-related illnesses; we need to ban spoons! Especially those high capacity spoons, nobody should own ladles. ’Cause spoons make people fat, right, not the food. Kinda like, guns kill, not the shooters, right? SPOON control! Now!! Seems so obvious to me.”

Protesters are paid

“Most leftist protesters are bought and paid for today. They aren’t grassroots people, they’re paid to carry the signs and scream chants. Internet searches frequently show openings where you, too, can be a paid protestor. Most large city newspapers carry protestor ads before protests. And you get paid well. These leftist protests are very carefully planned and executed.”

Victim dismayed by police response

“In a recent domestic violence incident, I was dismissed by the male officers that responded and basically mocked. As a victim, this doesn’t put much faith in placing that call, especially when the officers relay a private conversation between officers and victim, with the defendant.”

City Council meeting

“The City Council meets on first and third Tuesday each month at 6. Work sessions are at 5 pm which are also open to the public. Be informed. Learn about times for each governmental meetings in your community. You are the only person that can help make a difference. Show up and let your voice be heard.”

Why are so many running?

“Does anyone else think this sudden uptick in civic interest — so many new names in the upcoming election for city council —surprising? Do you think that this has anything to do with disgruntled landlords? Check and see who is funding these new candidates. Be careful who you’re really voting into office.”

I see through the Democrats

“I regret ever voting for a Democrat. When I was growing up I would hear my parents say the Democrats are for the poor and underprivileged … how sad they were so fooled and ignorant!

“Now that I am grown and can think for myself I see how evil and deceptive the Democrat Party is and always has been! The Democrat Party’s intent is to keep the poor in the poorhouse, keep them ignorant and lead them to believe they are fighting for them. The actual truth, they only want power to control our lives and it’s called ‘Socialism.’ They are trying every evil way to get it. I pray God will not allow it.”

Split utility bills a problem

“The City of Moultrie new split utility and cable bills are causing problems for people who receive benefits at different times from their due dates.

“Some have changed their due dates to accommodate not having late charges, which is great. But was not informed that the cable was not automatically changed, causing cutoff and $30 charge.

“Come to council meeting.”
