Badcock closing all stores
VALDOSTA — A long-established furniture chain with locations across South Georgia is shuttering all of its stores.
Badcock Home furniture, founded in Mulberry, Fla., in 1904, announced in a Facebook post that all its stores are closing, with inventory marked up to 50% off.
In Lowndes County, Valdosta has two Badcock stores and Lake Park has one. The chain also has stores in Adel, Nashville, Lakeland, Moultrie and Quitman.
Badcock had been purchased in 2023 by Conn’s, a furniture chain headquartered in Texas. Conn’s petitioned in bankruptcy court for Chapter 11 relief under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
Badcock has more than 370 company and dealer-owned stores in eight states in the Southeast.
B. Riley Retail Solutions, LLC, is managing the liquidation event, both online and in over 550 Conn’s and Badcock stores across Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Store furnishings, fixtures, and equipment are also available for sale.
All sales are final during this store closing event. There will be no returns or exchanges permitted, a statement from B. Riley said.
