Rant and Rave for March 21, 2019

What was unfair? What was false?

“The coach said the charges against him were ‘false, unfair.’ If he owes the amount of money stated, just what is ‘false, unfair’? He knows if the amounts are correct. If the amounts are true, he should show proof of what is ‘false, unfair.’ Those in teaching capacities should never be bad examples by being that far in debt.”

Please close schools to control the flu

“Please close school for a day or two and get the flu under control. The kids, teachers, and parents are sick. Doctor offices are overrun with patients. Schools need to be cleaned and bleached!”

Need information on Professional Standards Commission

“A news report is needed on the Professional Standards Commission (PSC) and the Code of Ethics so that people can understand exactly what this body does. People do not understand that the PSC determines if an educator has violated the Code of Ethics and that coaches have the same certificate as teachers, meaning that they are under the PSC’s jurisdiction.”

Please fix the roads

“The Road And Bridges Dept.: I am wondering if anyone in this taxpayer’s Dept.has any common sense? But I really already know that answer. Would you please fix your roads instead of making them Death Traps. You have my tax dollars as well as other Colquitt County tax payers’ and manpower and machinery so what’s your excuse?”

President’s words are appalling

“I find it appalling that the President of the US is denigrating a dead man. I agree with Hillary Clinton that all Republicans are deplorable. That means you. Look in the mirror and see your ugliness and non Christian values. May God have mercy on your souls! Shame on you!”

Stop the racing

“To the person racing a silver Corvette up and down Chitty and Cannon Roads at extremely high speeds, please stop. No one wants to listen to your souped up engine running at excessive speeds all day and night. Not to mention the danger to yourself and the residents of these roads. Please stop! Not impressed.”

Vendetta is plain to see

“BOE fires Rush without disclosing the reasons or letting him defend himself-that’s a travesty! Why didn’t you just fire him after he lost the championship and part ways on good terms. It’s plain to see there was a vendetta by the superintendent to ruin the man because Rush dared to raise his voice at him! So childish!”

Propst isn’t the only one out of control

“If you’re firing people for not having control of students, you better fire the principals at WJW and CCHS — my kids are there and it’s a madhouse at both places.”

Maybe I can do that too!

“My whole teaching career I have been afraid of being fired if my principal wasn’t completely satisfied with my teaching. After reading about the things that the superintendent and the board allowed to occur over years, in their admission, concerning Coach Propst, I no longer have that fear. Think I’ll take the next 20 days off but not 21.”

Lawsuit likely over Propst investigation

“The BOE will probably get sued and will pay hundreds of thousands or more to the coach. Great job! The whole lot of you should be gone and a new superintendent from out of town should clean house at the central offfice too!”

Kudos to the board

“Kudos to the Board of Education for having the courage to fire Coach Propst. They should have done it years ago. We need to hire a coach who has integrity, honesty and sets a good example for the kids he coaches. Winning games isn’t everything!”
