O’Reilly Auto Parts store welcomes two new employees

MOULTRIE, Ga. — O’Reilly Auto Parts’ Moultrie store recently welcomed two new employees into leadership positions.

Ron Jordan, who has been employed by Lowe’s for 15 years, is training to be an O’Reilly’s store manager.

Jordan was employed in auto parts stores for 15 years before joining Lowe’s, including a time when he managed the Auto Zone in Cordele.

O’Reilly’s store manager Steve Evans said Jordan actually came into the store seeking a donation for a veterans program Lowe’s was sponsoring. They were discussing his background when Evans got the idea for the job offer.

“I knew from the get-go that I was going to hire Ron,” Evans said.

Jordan started June 26.

A week later, Jay Peacock joined the O’Reilly team. Peacock had been the commercial specialist at Advance Auto Parts. Evans hired him as O’Reilly’s installer service specialist.

Evans was formerly employed by Advance Auto Parts too, and while he didn’t generally work with Peacock, he knew him by reputation.

“They said, ‘This is the guy you set the bar by,’” Evans recalled.

Peacock joined O’Reilly’s other installer service specialist, Lynwood Sharp, a longtime employee.

Jordan has 15 years parts experience, Peacock has 13, Evans has 19 and Sharpe has 20. The store has eight other employees too.
