Rant and Rave for August 3, 2018

I want the same deal

“If the City Council votes to allow Mr. Franklin to be outside of the city and provide water and sewer without paying city property taxes, then I would like the same deal. My city property taxes were outrages last year. Please annex me out of the city.”

Thank you

“Thank you to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office for doing a good job at difficult work and helping people in need. I realize they often seem to run from call to call, but a quick response, especially in family violence situations, is deeply, deeply appreciated. It’s difficult to put into words our community’s appreciation.”

School parking

“It’s a shame the new principal puts the parapros in the sports parking lot as if they really didn’t matter.  They give as much as the teachers and give their time as much.  Please let them park closer.”

Media standards

“What do you mean by the media double standard — the Trump standard (National Enquirer) or the true standard? I read the NYT daily and I don’t think they deserve the gas lighting remarks from the President unless it’s an opinion, which is open to debate, but verified sources stand to be true until proven otherwise.”

Obituaries

“Please list the obits back on the front page. The one having to wait while someone else reads them through the window of the rack will enough find something else to whine about.”
