Norman makes Summer 2024 Academic Achievement List

AMERICUS — Jessica Norman, a resident of Norman Park, made the Summer 2024 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 502 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

To be eligible for the Academic Achievement List, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Georgia Southwestern State University, located in Americus, is a public, four-year unit of the University System of Georgia with approximately 3,500 students.

Entire Moultrie nursing class passes board exams

THOMASVILLE — December 2023 graduates from Southern Regional Technical College’s Practical Nursing program in Moultrie achieved a 100% passage rate on their National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). The NCLEX-PN exam is a standardized exam that each PN graduate must pass to obtain a license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

The students that completed coursework during the 2023 fall semester include Mackenzie Attebury of Doerun and Emily Law, Tamizah Mathis and Lynnete Zarinana Ortega, all of Moultrie.
