Civil forfeiture to be explored during League of Women Voters meeting
DALTON, Ga. — The League of Women Voters of the Dalton Area meets on Tuesday at noon at the Western Sizzlin. The program is on civil forfeiture, which will be presented by state Rep. Steve Tarvin, R-Chickamauga. The public is invited. No reservations are necessary and you are not required to buy a meal to attend.
DOH plans Healthy Hike
LIVE OAK, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Suwannee County is hosting a Healthy Hike later this month.
The Healthy Hike is planned for June 30 from 9-11 a.m. at Suwannee Springs, just off U.S. Highway 129 North.
The event will feature guided hikes directed by a member of the Florida Trails Association-Suwannee Chapter.
The free event is open to the public and will provide an opportunity to learn about inexpensive, unique locations within the community to partake in outdoor physical activity and enjoy the beauty in the area.

‘Change’ in venue for annual coin show
TIFTON, Ga. — The annual Tiftarea Coin and Collectable Show returns this year with a change in venue. The Springhill Country Club will host the two day event, according to Ed Branch, treasurer for the Tiftarea Coin & Collectable Club. The show runs 9 a.m. — 6 p.m. on Friday June 15, and 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 16. This year, 20 coin and collectibles dealers are setting up show, according to Branch, who called it “a significant increase.”
