ARTS CENTER: What is National Arts in Education Week?
Across our great nation, large and small communities strive to emphasize the impact of the arts education through celebration, advocacy and the encouragement of participation. Such impacts include improvements with student attendance in school, problem solving skills, motivation and success in work and life experience.
History
In 2010 Congress passed, as House Resolution 275, National Arts in Education Week for the second week of September. This year over 800 partners and Americans for the Arts have chosen to honor Ms. Carol Channing by dedicating this year’s NAEW in her memory. She was a huge advocate for the Arts in Education as well as a music, screen and theater Icon.
