WTXL-TV: Mom finds narcotics in 5-year-old’s backpack, investigation underway

Our news partners at WTXL-TV are reporting that an investigation has begun in Hamilton County after a mother found narcotics in her child’s backpack after he returned home from elementary school.

Monica Evans said the youngest of her two sons, who is 5 years old, came home with pills in his backpack and nearly swallowed the pills before she was able to stop him.

After Evans reported the incident to the Hamilton County Elementary School’s resource officer and administrators contacted her, they allegedly told her “accidents happen.”
