Middle school golf teams
place second in openers
MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County middle school golf teams placed second in the season-opening Blue Devil Invitational on February 10, at Spring Hill Country Club in Tifton.
The Colquitt County boys shot a 335, led by Davis Hall’s 73, which was good for third overall.
David Herndon was one shot back at 74 and placed fourth. He holed out for an eagle on his 17th hole of the day.
Ches Redding shot a 92 and Wesley Allen rounded out the top four Colquitt County scores with a 96.
Camden Cisneros shot at 104 and Charlie Newton a 101.
Also on the middle school Packers roster this season are Charlie Stevens, Carter Bridges, JD Ausburn and Davis Wright.
The middle school boys team is coached by Hunter Daughtrey.
The middle school Lady Packers finished regulation tied for first place, but after a playoff hole, finished second.
Marley Jo Wilson led Colquitt’s girls with a 49. Blakely Hatcher shot a 50 and Blakely Collins and Lyla Wilson each shot a 52.
Also on coach Madison Willis’s middle school girls team are Raylee Plymel, Bailie Duke, Allie Mobley, Aubree Walden and Skylar Cortes.
The middle school team will play next on Thursday, February 20, at Francis Lake Golf Club in Lake Park.
