MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie woman was arrested  Wednesday by officers investigating a reported domestic dispute.

But it wasn’t the squabble that got her in trouble, it was the marijuana her boyfriend alerted police to when they arrived.

Moultrie police officers were dispatched at about 8:14 p.m. Wednesday to the 410 E. Central Ave. residence of Megan Smith and Alex Tyler Pitts. The call came in as a possible domestic dispute.

Pitts handed the suspected marijuana over to police and identified Smith, 20, as the owner.

Pitts told officers that he got cut when he pushed open the bedroom door that Smith had locked.

When police spoke with Smith she told them that she locked the door because Pitts got angry, and that his injury occurred when he was kicking in the door.

Smith also admitted that the marijuana belonged to her, police said.

The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services took temporary custody of a 3-year-old who was in the house at the time.

Smith was charged with a misdemeanor marijuana charge.

In another incident relationship issues, Alexis Haywood reported Wednesday the her ex-boyfriend ransacked her residence and left a note that identified him as the intruder.

Haywood told police that when she arrived home all of the doors of the residence were open and there was a note in the kitchen. Some time while she was gone someone broke in and rummaged through her bedroom as well as her daughter’s, throwing clothing on the floor.

In the note, Haywood reported, the ex-boyfriend admitted entering the residence.

• Stargell Quintrell Washington, 36, 1611 Old Pelham Road, Pelham, was charged Wednesday with duty to obey police officer and probation violation.

• Megan Smith, 20, 410 E. Central, was charged Wednesday with possession of marijuana.

• Ismael Gonzales, 35, 504 Rossman Dairy Road, was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence, failure to drive within single lane, expired vehicle tag or decal and driving without license.

Sheriff’s Office

• Justin Ted Dean, 33, 162 Piney Grove Lane, was charged Monday with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drugs across guard line.

• Quantavious Deion Williams, 21, 262 Selina Road, was charged Tuesday with criminal damage to property.

Doerun Police

• Orlando Chambers Jr., 28, 3671 Hwy. 33 N., Sylvester, was charged Thursday with driving while license suspended or revoked.

• Travis Duane Carnegie, 28, 634 W. Gordon Ave., Albany.

Thefts

Moultrie Police

• Samantha Garcia, 43, reported Wednesday the theft of personal paperwork and financial documents from her work place in the 200 block of West Central Avenue.

Garcia suspected that the theft occurred over the weekend, police said.

• Wal-Mart, 641 Veterans Parkway S., reported Wednesday that a shoplifter walked out with $98 worth of steak, of which four packages were found outside in the parking lot.

An employee recognized the man, who previously had been served with trespass documents notifying him not to return to the store.

Police will take arrest warrants.

• Willie Bell Tyler, 900 block First Avenue Northwest, reported Tuesday the theft of a glass, hen-shaped statue given to her by her late daughter.

Tyler told police the statue was valued at $60.

Sheriff’s Office

• Kristy Rush, 900 block Roberts Road, reported Wednesday the theft of a Suzuki RM100 dirt bike from underneath her carport.

The motorcycle was valued at $2,300.

A deputy who followed the tracks of the motorcycle found it in some tall grass. It was returned to Rush.

• Carl Underwood, 300 block First Street Northwest, reported Wednesday that a male acquaintance broke several windows at his residence.

Underwood told police that a neighbor witnessed the man breaking the windows.
