Four men charged in burglary
MOULTRIE, Ga. — Four men arrested after a police pursuit ended with a car crash have been identified as suspects in one burglary and an attempted burglary at a second Moultrie residence.
The men were taken into custody after the Thursday afternoon car chase. Further investigation indicated that they were involved in a burglary that occurred the previous day, police said.
“Thursday we had an alert neighbor call 911 because of suspicious males” in the 1200 block of Fifth Street Southwest, Moultrie Police Department Lt. Freddie Williams said.
The caller gave a description of a car that an officer ran across on Third Avenue Southwest, Williams said.
“The officer tried to make an investigative stop,” he said. “The driver refused to stop. After a short vehicle pursuit they crashed at Seventh Street Southwest and First Avenue Southwest.”
The driver of the car, Stacey James Daniels, 26, 615 Eighth St. S.E., was arrested. Also arrested were Malik Quatez Lewis, 19, 1002 Sixth Ave. S.E.; Isaiah Rashad Walters, 18, 814 Third Ave. N.W.; and Stavinski Rashood Bigelow, 22, 1508 11th St. S.W.
They are accused of an attempted burglary on Thursday in the area from which police received the call and a burglary the previous day at a residence in the 700 block of Pine Drive.
All four have been charged with burglary, criminal attempt to commit burglary and obstruction of a police officer.
Lewis also was charged on a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. Police also charged Daniels with traffic offenses including reckless driving, driving without license, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and parole violation.
