Team Lean registration under way until Jan. 5

MOULTRIE, Ga. —  The Moultrie YMCA’s community wide Team Lean competition has provided hundreds of individuals with the starting point they needed to lead a healthier lifestyle. Team Lean is a community wide weight-loss competition to lose the highest percentage of weight for individuals or teams throughout an 8-week span.

“Team Lean is a great weight-loss program for individuals because it provides that extra support and accountability they need to stay committed to a healthier lifestyle,” says Trey Duncan, Moultrie YMCA wellness director and co-coordinator of Team Lean. “Team Lean is not just about losing pounds, it is about offering participants a new way to look at their health and well-being.”

“This time of year most people are making New Year’s resolutions,” adds Robin McCord, Moultrie YMCA senior program director. “If your resolution is to be healthier, Team Lean can help you achieve your weight loss goals and get you started down the path to a better you in 2017 and beyond.”

Registration for the 2017 Team Lean began Dec. 1 at the Moultrie YMCA. Participants compete in teams of three or four or as individuals to see who loses the highest percentage of weight at the end of eight weeks. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three individuals and top three teams.

Fees for the 2017 Team Lean competition are $50 per person for YMCA members and $75 per person for potential YMCA members. The first weigh-in of the competition is Jan. 5.

Team Lean is a community-wide weight loss competition sponsored by the Moultrie YMCA and Colquitt Regional Medical Center. By joining the YMCA, members have access to the state of the art Wellness Center, basketball gymnasium, group exercise classes, indoor pool and more. For more information on Team Lean or membership, contact the Moultrie YMCA at 985-1154.
