Rep. Sam Watson to chair Appropriations subcommittee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named state Rep. Sam Watson, R-Moultrie, as the chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.  

Watson will also serve as the secretary of the Retirement Committee and as a member on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Natural Resources & Environment, Special Rules, Transportation, and Ways & Means committees.

“I am honored that Speaker Ralston has entrusted me with this leadership role on this committee,” Watson said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to make sure the agencies under general government are strong and have the resources necessary to put Georgians first.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
