Rant and Rave for Feb. 23, 2019

Anonymous criticism is useless

“Blasting the school on RR serves no purpose. It’s been done during for everything from abuse of authority to racist cheerleading recruiting practices to what was recently presented under the present administration.

“Anonymous charges in a newspaper hold no weight whether they’re accurate or not.”

My kids point to CCHS security problems

“Last week I watched all the memorials for the kids at the high school in Florida and how schools all over the country are beefing up security. My kids tell me that at CCHS there are always people roaming the halls and people can just wander in and out at will. Guess we’re not beefing up security there.”

‘Wait and see’ while county deteriorates

“What courage! Our county commissioners are happy to let the county continue being a dump and meth lab haven so they can ‘wait and see what happens in the city.’”

National emergency for made-up crisis

“Of course previous presidents have declared national emergencies but until now not one has fabricated the need for one and topped it off be saying he really didn’t have to do it but was in a hurry.

“This POTUS wants to rule by decree and has no knowledge or respect for the Constitution. He certainly never read it.”

Conversation about gun violence

“So, you want a ‘conversation about gun violence.’ Georgia gun laws have been loosened recently and gun violence has dropped. You want, maybe, to reverse that trend? I simply can’t imagine what you want to talk about with legal gun owners (other than banning their guns)?

“Amidst declining gun violence in Georgia, your ‘conversation’ topics have necessarily narrowed.”
