LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Baconton school FFA to sponsor tractor show
I am writing to promote the first annual Baconton Antique Tractor and Engine Show, hosted by Donald Collins and Sons Antique Tractor Restoration and the Baconton Community Charter School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter in coordination with the City of Baconton. The show will be a community event free to the public located at the old festival grounds on old Ga. Hwy. 3. The event will be on Saturday, March 2nd. The show will give collectors and hobbyist alike the chance to display antique tractors, small engines, and farm equipment. The event will also be host to a parade, swap meet, craft vendors, activities for the family, and concessions.
The parade will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday through downtown Baconton, Ga. Judging for the show will take place between 10 a.m. and noon. Winners will be announced after the parade.
This is our first show and we hope to build off of this to have a bigger and better show each year. All the proceeds of this event will go to the Baconton Community Charter School’s FFA chapter. Help us build this event to preserve the past and learning experience for the community and younger generations. Vendor space is still available. For any questions please contact Donald Collins, (229) 328-5398, or find us on Facebook by searching Baconton Antique Tractor and Engine Show or Donald Collins and Sons Antique Tractor Restoration.
