Driver thrown from ATV

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Colquitt County man who on Friday afternoon was ejected from a four-wheeler has been released from the hospital.

A deputy was dispatched at about 2:12 p.m. to the 100 block of Foxthick Road to investigate a reported ATV wreck, according to Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office reports.
When he arrived he saw Gary Alan Mitchell lying on his side in the roadway about 10 feet from a Polaris Sportsman ATV, the reports said. Mitchell told the officer that he was driving too fast and when he attempted to stop to make a left turn he was thrown from the four-wheeler.
Mitchell was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A hospital spokeswoman said on Monday that he was treated and released.
Mitchell was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions.
