Missing chicken caper solved

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Two problems were solved when police responded Friday afternoon to a Culpepper Drive residence in reference to a suspicious-circumstances call.

The woman told an officer that when she left home that morning a little after 8 a.m., her chickens were in a pen on the back porch.

The pen was locked. There was no way the birds could get out, but upon her return midafternoon, the woman noticed one of the chickens was missing.

The woman also told the officer someone punched holes in her flower bed. The resident told the officer who she thought took the chicken and damaged her flower bed.

While the officer was talking to the woman, the chicken she thought was missing walked out from under steps.

Nevertheless, the resident voiced concerns and expressed a desire for more police patrols in the area.

The officer obliged the woman and told her police patrols would be increased in her neighborhood.
