Moultrie First Responders Association holds Fifth Annual Shoot and BBQ

MOULTRIE – The Fifth Annual Moultrie First Responders Association Shoot and BBQ raised more than $35,000.

The annual event was held October 26, at Foxwood Farms. The funds raised will go to scholarships and a benevolence fund for first responders in the community.

The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office placed 1st in the Team Competition, Colquitt EMS placed 2nd, Moultrie Fire Department Station #2 placed 3rd and the Moultrie Police Department placed fourth.

The Top shot and overall match winner of the annual shoot was Sheriff Rod Howell, who also won “bragging rights” in winning the Bosses Competition. 

The First Responder who raised the most in donations for this year’s fund drive were Eric Butler, taking 1st place and Ronald Jordon, taking 2nd place. Dennis Futch sponsored the prizes to the winners.

The Moultrie First Responders Association is a non-profit, professional and social network of firefighters, EMS, rescue, police officers, sheriff officers and concerned civilians.

Brian Bass, Wood Gibson, Ronald Jordan, Angela Futch, Alyse Futch, and Alexander William Futch assisted in putting on this year’s shooting and barbecue event.
