Man charged with ‘Molotov cocktails’

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie man was jailed Wednesday after gasoline explosive devices in beer bottles were used during a dispute at a Norman Park residence.

Norman Park police were dispatched at about 7:12 a.m. to the residence of Karly Kennedy and Victor Bernard Williams in the 3200 block of R.L. Sears Road.

Two of the devices, described as Molotov cocktails built using 22-ounce Budweiser beer bottles, ignited but a third one did not, Norman Park Police Department Chief Chuck Snyder said.

“There was no fire damage” to the residence, he said. “But he hit it with his truck.”

Snyder called the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and gave a description of the vehicle and suspect Edwin William Pellerin.

“The sheriff’s office stopped him outside of town,” Snyder said.

Deputies took Pellerin into custody in the 1900 block of U.S. Highway 319 North.

Pending charges against Pellerin, 29, 1415 Fifth St. S.E., include two counts of aggravated assault, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, criminal damage to property, possession of a destructive device with intent to intimidate and criminal attempt to commit arson.

Police were pursuing warrants in the case on Thursday.

Pellerin was being held at Colquitt County Jail.
