Moultrie native honored as Texas councilman

ARLINGTON, Texas — Marvin Sutton, a 1980 Colquitt County High School graduate and a councilman in Arlington, Texas, representing a district of about 75,000 citizens, was surprised and honored by his congressman on Nov. 5.

During the regular city council meeting, Rep. Ron Wright of the Texas 6th Congressional Distict presented Sutton with the district’s first Congressional Veteran Commendation award.

Sutton’s wife, Raquel, was on hand for the presentation.

The award represents outstanding service to the community.
