Atlanta Hawks grant Rec Authority $2,300
MOULTRIE, Ga – The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks & Recreation Authority was recently awarded $2,300 from the Atlanta Hawks.
“The Hawks are committed to helping grow the game of basketball and encourage healthy activity at the grassroots level and want to provide the additional assistance to do so,” the MCCPRA shared in a press release Thursday.
The MCCPRA is one of 43 agencies to receive the grant. This year is a larger amount than the previous years the authority has received the grant. The Hawks gave a total of $100,000 in funding to the agencies.
The funds will provide a $20 discount for up to 100 participants in the authority’s upcoming Pass, Dribble, and Shoot event scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11.
Each first and second-place winner will be awarded free league participation. The eligible age groups include separate Boys and Girls teams of 7-8 ,9-10 and 11-12.
The league registration costs $40 and is ongoing until Sunday, Dec. 4.
