Fundraiser to benefit cancer patients

VALDOSTA — An upcoming beer tasting will raise money for cancer patients.

The Partnership Cancer Fund committee will host the Second Annual Pints for Partnership 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Salty Snapper.

The cancer fund committee with the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation assists patients undergoing cancer treatment with medical-related expenses, said Courtney Orr Bell, foundation coordinator.

The money helps with medical equipment, nutrition supplements and medication to any Lowndes County resident or any patient undergoing treatment from a Lowndes provider, Bell said.

Tickets for Pints for Partnership are $20 per person and includes a commemorative glass, two full-pours of beers, a beer tasting and light refreshments.

Bell said Salty Snapper will offer specialty beers, and there will be $1 green beers. There will also be a live band and a raffle for gift baskets.

“We had a lot of fun last time,” Bell said. “Great attendance and a great way to raise money for the cancer fund and get the word out about the fund itself.”

Tickets can be purchased online at sgmcfoundation.org/events or at the door.

Call (229) 433-1071, or visit sgmc.org/partnershipcancerfund, for more information about the fund.
