Doerun woman hurt in ‘incident’
DOERUN, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into what it described as a Tuesday morning “incident” that sent a Doerun woman to the hospital.
“We don’t know a whole lot,” said Jamy Steinberg, special agent in charge of the GBI’s Thomasville office.
Crime scene technicians with the agency as well as officers with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and Doerun Police Department were on the scene Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of North Green Street.
“Some type of incident took place,” Steinberg said. “(I) don’t know if she was the victim of an assault or” something else took place. “We don’t know if it was one person or multiple (involved).”
Steinberg did not release the name of the injured victim in the event, which was still under investigation.
“We got a call around lunch,” he said. “The Colquitt Sheriff’s Office was requested by the Doerun Police Department. The Colquitt Sheriff’s Office requested our assistance.”
