Four-wheeler, chainsaw taken in separate thefts

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A four-wheeler was among the property taken in two theft cases, totaling more than $7,500, under investigation by county law enforcement agencies.

The owner of the Honda 420 Recon four-wheeler reported it stolen from his residence in the 1600 block of Cool Springs Road, Norman Park.

James Grogan told police on Wednesday that he last saw the vehicle under a shed on Dec. 1 and on Sunday noticed that it was missing. He did not immediately report the theft because he tried to find the serial number before calling police.

On Wednesday evening John Willeby Jr. reported that he found a chain saw stolen from his shed for sale on the Google Letgo phone app.

Willeby told police that some time in late November he discovered that the saw had been taken after finding the shed door open. He did not report the theft at the time because he had no serial number.

Willeby valued that saw, plus a gas can and fuel taken at the same time, at $600.

In another reported burglary, Bob Hamm, 4200 block Sumner Road, reported the theft of property of unknown value.
