Mother & Son Dance set for May 13

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Tickets for the May 13 Mother & Son Dance are on sale, with the theme of this year’s event the mad tea party from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” novel.

The annual dance is put on by the Moultrie Police Department, with proceeds going to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Moultrie.

Tickets are $25 for one mother and one son, and $5 for each additional grandmother, aunt, son or nephew. They are available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays at the Moultrie Police Department, 128 First St. S.W.

Participants will have the opportunity to have photos taken for a package of $15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Colquitt County Arts Center ballroom. Ballroom doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance ends at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The police department is asking local business interested in providing merchandise or funding to support the event to call (229) 985-3131.
