Hobbs named CTAE Director of the Year
MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County’s Career Technology Agricultural Education (CTAE) director, Tim Hobbs, was recently named CTAE Director of the Year by the Healthcare Science Teachers Association.
The award was presented at the annual Georgia Association Career Technical Education (GACTE) Conference where career technology teachers and administrators are recognized for outstanding individual performance as well as outstanding program performance. The conference was held in Athens.
Recently retired Colquitt County High School healthcare science teacher and HOSA advisor, June Woods, nominated Hobbs for the award. She said Hobbs is an outstanding CTAE Director and very deserving of the award.
Hobbs was also nominated for Administrator of the Year by the Association of Career Technical Education (ACTE). ACTE is a national Career Technical Education organization of which the Georgia GACTE is an affiliate.
The process of being an awards recipient begins with open nominations, according to a press release from Colquitt County High School. Once nominations are received and criteria are verified, the nominees’ names are then forwarded to the awards committee for their division. Each committee reviews all nominations and selects one for each category. These selections are then forwarded to the state awards committee which makes the final decisions on award recipients.
