FFA students win at agriscience fair

Additionally, Mariela Palacios and T'Keya Owens won first place honors in their division with their project, ‘Comparing Store Bought Soil to Garden Soil when Measuring the Growth of Carrots.’

Students from the FFA Plant Science Course recently competed in a local AgriScience Fair. The students were asked to pick a unique project related to plants and conduct a semester long experiement. Students chose topics varying from the best soil types to using alternative sources like fish and club soda as fertilizer. All students did an excellent job with their projects and applied the scientific method to real life issues, according to a press release about the event. All students were asked to make recommendations for real life situations based on the research questions that they answered.
