The Moultrie Technical College Foundation, Inc. recently awarded 16 students from MTC campuses in Colquitt and Tift counties with scholarships to help cover their Spring Semester 2014 class expenses. Scholarships are provided through the college’s internal fundraising campaign in which MTC faculty and staff members donate a portion of their monthly salaries to help students and to meet other pressing needs not covered through state-allocated funds. This semester’s scholarship recipients are Donna Ashby, Kayla Ethridge, Candesa Ford, Abrianna Gaulden, Michael Heath, Mary Hill, Erin Jones, Shanvika Little, Heather Malczewski, Makiba Marshall, Melanie Parks, Taylor Phillips, Truett Starkey, Tashalia Tovar, Vickie Wainwright and James Whittington. MTC’s Acting President Jim Glass, far left, and MTC Vice President of Student Affairs Leigh Wallace, far right, are pictured here with scholarship recipients from the college’s two campuses in Moultrie: from left, Starkey, Little, Phillips, Ford, Whittington and Ethridge.
