District baseball tournaments open Sat.

Georgia Recreation and Park Association District III baseball will begin on Saturday with the Mite with pitching machine tournament and part of the Midget tournament being contested at the Magnolia Sports Complex.

The Colquitt County Gold Midget all-stars will play Crisp County here in a best-of-3 sub-District III tournament beginning at 9 a.m.
A deciding game, if needed, would be played at 6 p.m. Monday.
The Gold Midget all-stars, coached by Frank Sircy, include Alex Bledsoe, Reese Bledsoe, Henry Daniels, Trace Eakins, Jaycee Harden, Logan Fleming, Seth Gay, Javan Jackson, Callon Kubiak, Will Rykard and Turner Sircy.
The Mite tournament at the Magnolia Complex will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with Colquitt County Gold facing Thomasville and Colquitt County Garnet playing MItchell County.
The championship game of the four-team tournament is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
The Colquitt County Gold team, coached by Mike Davis, includes Dawson Branch, Lane Bruce, Chance Caulder, Tyler Coots, Omar Daniels, Wes Davis, Pershaun Fann, Brooks Henry, Jeb Johnson, Tucker Pitts, Will Snipes and Devin Watson.

Coach Jason Weaver’s Colquitt County Garnet team includes Brady Blackburn, Jesse McMurphy, Garrett Morris, Max Parker, Gavin Parkerson, J.Ben Paulk, Duron Rushing, Steven Spradley, Levi Stanfill, Hunter Strickland, Cameron Summerlin, Evan Taylor, Drew Watson and Brock Weaver.
Colquitt County’s two 7-8 Flea all-star teams will head to Sumter County Regional Park on Highway 19 South in Americus for their District III tournament.
Both teams will open play at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Colquitt County Gold will play Syvester-Worth County and Coquitt County Black will play Grady County.
The tournament also have teams from Bainbridge, Sumter County, Thomasville YMCA B, Crisp County and Thomasville YMCA A.
The championship game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Colquitt County Gold, coached by Ricky Griffin, includes Mason Bass, Will Bishop, Chase Blanton, Landon Griffin, Zy’Norian McClendon, Chaz Odom, Tyler Owens, Thomas Propst, Tucker Sparkman, Joseph Stokes, Miller Tompkins, Aden Thompson and Mitchell Wingate. The team’s assistant coaches are Bill Bishop, Andy Whittaker and Wayne Duck.
Coach Garrett Wingate’s Colquitt County Black team includes Charles Broome, Hunter Cobb, Luke Ellerbee, Andrew Eubanks, Waylon Grantham, Dylan Holweger, Jacob Law, Bryce Monk, Cade Odom, Stefan Reynolds, Logan Strickland and Garron Wingate.
Colquitt County’s other Midget League all-star team will play at the E.B. Hamilton Complex in Tifton on Saturday and will face Grady County at 9 a.m.
That tournament will include five other teams, including Bainbridge, Mitchell County, Thomasville YMCA and Worth County.
The double-elimination tournament will continue next week with the championship game scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Russ Davis-coached Midget team includes Mason Davis, Brady Bannister, David Schroeder, Owen Fleury, McKenzie Powell, Wilson Hewitt, Kason Davis, Carter Boatwright, J.T. Whatley, Jacob Walden and Jed Hart.
