Police have hands full
Trending
“Our police officers already have their hands full with real crimes. They don’t have time to police butts hanging out of britches. I’m not saying it’s not repulsive. In fact it indicates humankind is devolving. However, it’s not efficient use of trained officers. The ordinance is there to appease some people. You won’t see any such charges unless it’s in conjuction with other charges. Our police simply don’t have time for this.”
Indirect value
“The baggy pants ordinance may have an indirect value. Let’s say a man has a warrant out for him. Having his rear end hanging out of his pants gives a police officer cause to stop him. At that point, he finds out that there are outstanding warrants. Underwear boys beware!”
Observation
“I just found out that Coach Seagraves took a coaching job in Ashburn. His Quarterback son , Cole, was accepted at Mississippi Gulf Coast University. Congratulations Cole and Coach. Just wondering, if the kid wasn’t recruited, why is his family relocating, after his graduation? Can we not keep these great families in our community after their playing days are over?”
Irony
Trending
“I want to know where all the national and presidential outrage was when Casey Anthony was found innocent, also in Florida, of killing her poor little girl. Everybody forgot about her in a hurry.”
Color balance
“I agree that the Colquitt County School system does not have enough people of color teaching. We always hear that the kids need role models; well put someone on staff that can make a good and lasting impression on the minority students. That being said the hiring system for CCS needs to be changed and not left up to one person. Hire someone of a different race other than Caucasian.”
Beware
“Beware of lawman wannabees. They can get someone hurt. Law enforcement requires proper training. Brainpower is much more important in these jobs than gunpower.”
Attend meetings
“To the ranter complaining about the lack of minority teachers within the Colquitt County School System, it is looking like the board feels like minorities are not qualified to teach. What can be done about this? Start attending board meetings and let them know that you are interested in how your tax dollars are being used.”
Defined levels
“Academic classification has squat to do with segregation and to say otherwise in a public forum is cheap race baiting.
“We need defined levels because mixing semiliterate children white, black or Hispanic with high achievers does not work.
“It’s been tried but it’s pie in the sky folly.”
