Howard Francis Sullivan

MADISON, Fla. — Howard Francis Sullivan, 72, of Madison, Fla. died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Madison Nursing Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Cobb Funeral Chapel.



Ronnie Wayne Taylor

MOULTRIE — Ronnie Wayne Taylor, 43, of Moultrie died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Moultrie Church of Christ with Minister John Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Bridge Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Loftis, Chip Blalock, Wayne Odom, Rodney Taylor, Roger Lindsey, Danny Roberts and Garrett Morse.

Born March 9, 1959, in Colquitt County, Mr. Taylor was the son of Willadean Tucker Taylor and Curtis Hilton Taylor. He was the plant manager of Adorn LLC in Adel and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, April Guess Taylor of Moultrie; his parents, Willadean Tucker Taylor and Curtis Hilton Taylor of Moultrie; two sons, Cameron Taylor and Adam Taylor, both of Moultrie; a brother, Tony Curtis Taylor of Leesburg; and a sister, Vickie Taylor Sangster of Moultrie.

Visitation will be held from 2:30-4 p.m. at the Moultrie Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made to the Moultrie Heart Association.

Cheryl Sampson

MOULTRIE — Cheryl Sampson, 48, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at her residence.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at St. James Freewill Baptist Church with Bishop John L. Ward and Elder Charlie Revills officiating. Burial will be in Strong Memorial Gardens. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Born April 21, 1954, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Sampson was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Jones and David Jones Sr. She was disabled and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Warren Sampson.

Survivors include brothers, David Jones Jr., Jerry Jones, both of Moultrie, James Johnson (Barbara) of Charlotte, N.C., Johnny Jones (Teen) and Melvin Jones (Freda), all of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters, Alice Spears (Spencer), Jacquelyn Pollard (Calvin), Jaynel Murray (Derrick), all of Moultrie, Marie Simpkins (Donald) of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mary Ann Jones, St. Paul, Minn.; her grandmother, Ozie Bell Williams of Moultrie; sisters-in-law, Marie Jones of Charleston, S.C., and Madeline Jones of Norfolk, Va.; brothers-in-law, Willie D. Sampson and Leonard Charles Sampson, both of Moultrie; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Virginia Joyce Lynch Courtoy

MOULTRIE — Virginia Joyce Lynch Courtoy, 70, of Moultrie died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Burial will be in Baker Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Danny Alderman, Larry Hinson, Preston Harper, Gene West, Bryan Craig, Scott Cole, Eddie Brightwell and Joe Lynch.

Born April 9, 1932, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Courtoy was the daughter of the late Kate Wildes Lynch and Howard Lynch. She was a bookkeeper with Crystal Pharmacy and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Weilbrenner, and a brother, Richard C. Lynch.

Survivors include her husband, J.C. Courtoy of Moultrie; a son, USAF Lt. Col. (retired) Steve Courtoy and wife Sallie of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughters, Dr. A. DiAnn Courtoy, Sharon C. Salter and husband Joey, Teresa L. Courtoy, and Ginger C. Sirmons and husband Danny, all of Moultrie; a sister, Hazel Jordan and husband Ernest of Moultrie; and seven grandchildren, J.D. Courtoy, Jessica Courtoy, Jason Courtoy, Katy Weilbrenner, Roxanne Salter, Tyler Harper and Cody Sirmons.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be made to Colquitt County Hospice, 2516 Fifth Ave. S.E.

James Richard Woodard

MOULTRIE — James Richard Wooda





rd, 54, of Moultrie died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his mother’s residence.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The men of Mount Olive Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Born Sept. 17, 1948, in Colquitt County, Mr. Woodard was the son of Lois Crawley Woodard and the late Jessie Lee Woodard. He was retired from Firestone and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Crawley Woodard of Moultrie; a son, Adam Richard Woodard of Albuquerque, N.M., and fiancee Stephanie Thaggard; four sisters, Juanita W. Gay and husband Jimmie of Norman Park, Delma W. Hudson of Moultrie, Lillian W. Roberts and husband Charles of Cocoa, Fla., and Rita W. Saunders and husband Chuck of Nahunta; and a grandchild, Adam Dakota Woodard.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Colquitt County Hospice, 2516 Fifth Ave. S.E.
