Power bill hints at identity theft

MOULTRIE — Deborah A. Greene, Doerun, told Colquitt County deputies Tuesday that she received a bill from Florida Power and Light, an electric company based in Miami, Fla. The report stated she believes someone may have used her personal identifying information to get power turned on in her name. Such an act is considered identity theft.
Arrests
Eddie Lee Ogletree, 48, 1409 Hutchinson Drive N.E., was charged Wednesday with driving with a suspended license (first offense), Moultrie Police Department reports stated.
Belinda Maxwell, 28, 213 Mae Road, was charged Wednesday with contempt of court, MPD reports stated.
Greg Dean Barrett, 33, 288 Lake Shore Road, was charged Wednesday with probation violation.
Sonja Dawn Clark, 21, Thomasville, was charged July 11 with DUI, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office reports stated.
Jennifer Michelle Underwood, 27, 1387 Woodmen Road, was charged Wednesday with contempt of court, sheriff’s office reports stated.
Dennis Lee Mitchell, 32, 310 Fourth Ave. N.W., was charged Thursday with violation of probation.
Katherin Brandson, 18, 731 A Sumner Road, was charged Wednesday with simple battery (family violence), sheriff’s office reports stated.
Ashley Larue Clayton, 20, 416 Ninth St. N.W., was charged Wednesday with violation of probation, sheriff’s office reports stated.
Willie Anthony Hines, 24, 803 10th Ave. N.W., was charged Wednesday with parole violation, sheriff’s office reports stated.
Tony Jack Bozeman, 50, 1113 Fifth Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with theft by taking, sheriff’s office reports stated.
Other incidents
Sheriff’s office incident reports stated Ann Weeks, 216 30th Ave. N.W., reported Wednesday that between 5:30 p.m. July 3 and 3:30 p.m. July 10 someone poisoned her brown and white Jack Russell terrier dog. She said other dogs around her neighborhood have been found missing lately.
Tina Damon, 201 30th Ave. N.W., said her dog, a yellow Labrador was also missing and that there was a dog in a field nearby that looked like it had been burned.
Alma Shingles, 61, 1303 First Ave. N.W., reported Thursday that her yard man was mowing lawns around 6 p.m. Wednesday when he noticed her air conditioning unit missing from the back window of her house, MPD incident reports stated. The unit is valued at $100.
Cynthia Lewis, 29, 812 Seventh Ave. S.E., reported Wednesday that someone took her air conditioning unit out of her house around 6 p.m. Tuesday, MPD reports stated. Apparently the unit was taken through a window that was damaged. MPD reports stated the unit is valued at $500 and the damage is valued at $375. MPD reports stated there were no suspects at the time.
Accidents
An MPD accident report stated a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Sylvester Highway and North Main Street injured one driver.
Angie Teal, marketing specialist at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, said Selina Key Carlton, 23, 756 Cox Dairy Road, was treated and released.
The MPD report stated Carlton, driving a 1994 Toyota Camry, told police she was southbound on U.S. Highway 319 at its intersection with Sylvester Highway when a 1998 Chevrolet 1500, driven by James Riley Albritton, 74, 76 Thomas Bell Road, pulled in front of her. The report stated Carlton’s car struck Albritton’s in the right front fender with her front bumper.
Albritton was cited with failure to yield at an intersection and Carlton was cited with failure to use a seat belt, the report stated.
