Trust officer Tammy Lane receives CTFA certification

Tammy Y. Lane, assistant vice president and trust officer of Southwest Georgia Bank and financial advisor for Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC, was recently awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C.

The CTFA designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of wealth management and trust.

To qualify for the CTFA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including   fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning, investment management and ethics.

Lane joined Southwest Georgia Bank in 1993 and has 32 years of financial services experience. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Brewton Parker College.

She also holds Series 7 and Series 63 Securities Licenses, as well as life and variable annuity insurance licenses.

She is a member of the Volunteer Arts Alliance and Hopewell Baptist Church.

Lane is a dual employee of Southwest Georgia Bank and Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.

Her office is located at 25 Second Ave. S.W. in Moultrie, the location of the Trust and Brokerage Division of Southwest Georgia Bank.
