Mary Lee Burnett Cardin Windham
VALDOSTA — Mary Lee Burnett Cardin Windham, 61, of Valdosta died Friday, July 23, 2004, at Heritage House in Valdosta after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, in the chapel of Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home in Quitman with the Rev. Douglas Mitchell officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Diamond Johnston Cardin, Jarrod Benjamin Thomas, Harold Wendell Wyatt III, David Quintin Brand, Charles Edward Cardin, Matthew Brett Thomas, Kirby Morrison Carlton Jr. and Douglas William Ratledge.
Born in Chickasha, Okla., Mrs. Windham was the daughter of Edward Quin Russell and Helen Johnston Salter Burnett. She was self-employed in the embroidery business and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Suwannee. She had been a resident of Brooks County from 1962 to 1984. Mrs. Windham moved to Atlanta and returned to Valdosta in 2004.
She is survived by one daughter, Tracy LeWayne Cardin Thomas and husband Vance of Valdosta; two sons, Charles Derrick Ty Cardin of Hawkinsville and Petty Officer 1st class Dwayne JoCarl Cardin of Virginia Beach, Va.; one stepdaughter, Stacey Windham Poole and husband Mike; one stepson, Gary Barnard Windham and wife Bobbi; one sister, Deborah Ann Burnett Conroy and husband John of Anchorage, Alaska; and seven grandchildren, Jarrod Benjamin Thomas, Matthew Brett Thomas, Diamond Johnston Cardin, Charles Edward Cardin, Marissa Jewell Cardin, Sarah Frances Windham and Katherine Anne Windham.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Joseph Jack LoFasso
MOULTRIE — Joseph Jack LoFasso, 81, of Moultrie died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Sheffield officiating and the Rev. Jim Houseal and Jimmy Voyles assisting. Burial will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Chris Honea, Eddie Bidault, Joey LoFasso, Chris Griggs Jr., Josh Bidault and Justin Bidault.
Born Dec. 27, 1922, in Silver Creek, N.Y., Mr. LoFasso was the son of the late Joseph LoFasso and Josephine Tedesco LoFasso. He was an electrician with Local 613 in Atlanta and a member of Norman Park Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Jackson LoFasso; one son, Joseph Anthony LoFasso and wife Jo of Atlanta; two daughters, Anita Honea and husband Gary of Hiram, Ga., and Cheryl LoFasso of Edgewater, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Loren H. Odom
HAHIRA — Loren H. Odom, 62, of Hahira died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Jean Tyson “Debbie” Odom of Hahira; one son, Jamey Odom of Sylvester; two daughters, Donna Pope of Sumner and Tammy Britt of Sylvester; two stepdaughters, Deidra Drawdy of Nashville and Sharon Drawdy Daiz of Stockbridge; and one brother, Bobby Odom of Baconton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Highway 41 South, Adel.

Charlotte Mary Ethel Tucker
MOULTRIE — Charlotte Mary Ethel Tucker, 56, of Moultrie died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Brownwood Nursing Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Providence Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Michael Peacock, Mark Phillips, Michael Tucker, John Gillespie, Danny Whitehead and Shelby Stanaland.
Born Aug. 23, 1947, in Colquitt County, Ms. Tucker was the daughter of the late Nezzie Stanaland Tucker and Otis Clayton Tucker. She was a florist and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Tucker, Curtis Tucker and Ernest Tucker.
Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Tucker of Moultrie; two brothers, Mike Tucker of Pelham and Gene Tucker of Moultrie; one sister, Nell Gillespie of Moultrie; two grandchildren, Kelsey Phillips and Ethan Phillips; and a special friend, Pete Peacock of Moultrie.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church.
The family requests that memorials be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice.

Van H. Warren
ALBANY — Van H. Warren, 58, of Albany died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany with the Rev. Bobby Moye officiating. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. at Leila Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega.
A native of Tift County, Mr. Warren had resided in Albany since 1966. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with Yancey Bros., formerly The Carlton Company, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Warren was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Tifton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. Warren and Claudia Sinclair Warren, and a brother, Lynwood Warren.
Survivors include four sisters, Corinne Rentfrow and Dorothy Tyson and husband Leroy, all of Albany, Janice Stephens and husband Bill of Omega and Faye Childers and husband Larry of Tifton; two brothers, Wayne Warren and wife Norma of Omega and James Warren and wife Marcelline of McCaysville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Sudie Mae Holland Carver Horton
TYLER, Texas — Sudie Mae Holland Carver Horton, 83, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Moultrie, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Tyler.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Hartsfield Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews of Mrs. Horton will serve as casketbearers.
Born July 6, 1921, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Horton was the daughter of the late Leslie Britt Holland and Nelson S. Holland. She was a homemaker and had been employed with Piggly Wiggly for 18 years. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim E. Carver; her second husband, Newell O. Horton; her stepmother, Ella Holland; three brothers, Ambrose N. Holland, Lonnie H. Holland and Roscoe Holland; and a granddaughter, Debra Lindsey.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Carver of Amarillo, Texas, and Larry Carver of Puerto Rico; eight daughters, Mary Angie Hicks and Sue Lindsey and husband N.L., all of Tyler, Ann Shaffer of Perry, Marion Stanford of Columbus, Jeanette Stanfill of Moultrie, Latrell McMillan of Douglasville, Shirley Fleetwood of Tallahassee, Fla., and Wanda Perrett of Albany; two sisters, Essie Mims of Hartsfield and LaFaye Saunders of Moultrie; several grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the funeral chapel.

Helen Virginia Hoover Tillman
NASHVILLE — Helen Virginia Hoover Tillman, 93, of Nashville died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Harrell-Faircloth Chapel with the Rev. Charles Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow at Pinegrove Cemetery.
Born May 9, 1921, in Mitchell County, Mrs. Tillman was the daughter of the late William Dennis Hoover and Essie Arlene Hudson Hoover. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Tillman Sr., and a sister, Edna H. Deal.
Survivors include one son, William Henry Tillman Jr. and wife Jeanne of McDonough; one daughter, Dale T. Rowan and husband Randy of Nashville; and five grandchildren, Cody Rowan, Jessica Tillman, William Tillman, Erin Grossman and Lindsay Hayes.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
