MOULTRIE — Some recent visitors to Moultrie didn’t receive a very warm
welcome.
Austin McNair, of Cuthbert, Josh Nobles, of Jakin, and Tom Burrows and
Kyle Harris, both of Blakely, arrived in Moultrie Friday afternoon to
participate in a high school debate competition. The students, and their
chaperon Ms. Bronwyn Martin, checked into The Inn at Moultrie, 1713
First Ave. S.E.
After returning from supper, the students entered their room to find
clothing, luggage and toiletries missing, police reports stated.
Police reports said maintenance workers had entered the room earlier to
repair a problem with the lights. The workers asked questions as to when
the boys would leave and return to their room.
Officers said they interviewed the motel clerk, who told them the
maintenance workers were unavailable.
The loss was estimated at $675.
