Wilbur Lamar Castleberry

NORMAN PARK — Wilbur Lamar Castleberry, 91, of Norman Park, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Magnolia Manor South Nursing Center.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Crosland Cemetery.

Born Nov. 11, 1909, in Mitchell County, Mr. Castleberry was the son of the late Dollie Barlow Castleberry and Warren Castleberry. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Maude Gunn Castleberry; a son, Sam Castleberry; and three daughters, Louise Otero, Willene Hayes and Laura Crawford.

Survivors include a son, Wilbur Castleberry of Crosland; a daughters, Betty Lou Vega of Sneads, Fla.; a brother, Earl Moye of Jacksonville, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Lois Etta Booth Davis

SUMNER — Lois Etta Booth Davis, 90, of Sumner, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Woodlands at Cobblestone

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Wright’s Chapel Church. Burial will be in Paulk’s Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Janice Parrish Autry and Sherry Wanda Childers; a son, Ellis Lavon Davis; sisters, Agnes Conger and Merle Jackson; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.



George Ottis Bryant Sr.

MOULTRIE — George Ottis Bryant Sr., 56, of Moultrie, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Christian Life Center with the Revs. Charles Odom and Stanley Norman officiating. Burial will be in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Richard Allegood, Barry Bryant, Ronnie Merritt, Jeff Lynch, Roger Clayton, Robbie Clayton, Eric Clayton and Darren Bryant.

Born April 23, 1945, in Colquitt County, Mr. Bryant was the son of the late Addie Belle Edwards Bryant and George Washington Bryant. Mr. Bryant was employed by the Colquitt County Correctional Institute and was a member of Christian Life Center Church. He was a 1963 graduate of Moultrie High School, where he was a member of the Packer football team.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Pacifico Bryant of Moultrie; sons, George Ottis Bryant Jr. and wife Kelly of Hartsfield and Thomas Wayne Bryant and wife MeLena of Moultrie; a daughter, Roxane Leigh Bryant and husband Danny of Hartsfield; brothers, Wallace Bryant of Hartsfield and Charles Bryant of Moultrie; sisters, Lois Davidson of Albany and Penny Allegood of Hartsfield; and seven grandchildren, Daniel Bryant, Jonathan Bryant, Renae Bryant, Michael Bryant, Taylor Bryant, Cole Bryant and Anthony Bryant.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

The family may be contacted at the home of Ottis and Kelly Bryant, 4567 Ga. Hwy. 111, Hartsfield.

Ervin Kenneth Palmore

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Ervin Kenneth Palmore, 43, of Kissimmee, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.



Mary Jane Rowe

WILLACOOCHEE — Mary Jane Rowe, 90, of Willacoochee, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Moultrie.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. The Rev. Jessie Bennefield will officiate. Burial will be at Rowetown.

Mrs. Rowe was born Aug. 24, 1911, in Berrien County to Frank and Ida Sullivan Benefield. She was a homemaker and member of Rowetown Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Arthur Rowe.

Survivors include two brothers, the Rev. John B. Benefield of Moultrie and L.J. Benefield of Fort McCoy, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
