Edna Hester Cooper

NORMAN PARK — Edna Hester Cooper, 88, of 352 Henry Weeks Road, Norman Park, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial in Sardis Cemetery. The Rev. Q.L. Barnes will officiate. Casketbearers will be Bo Cooper, Bobby Cooper, Chris Brinson, Matt Popham, Billy Paramore, Timmy Cooper, Dewayne Sutton and Jimmy Ray Clemmons.

Mrs. Cooper ws born March 3, 1915, in Colquitt County to the late Maggie Boyd Hester and the late Robert B. Hester. She was a homemaker and a member of Ellenton Baptist Church in Ellenton.

She was married 66 years to Taylor J. “Buck” Cooper, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Wandall Cooper of Norman Park, Emory Cooper and wife Myra of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Tony Cooper and wife Nina of Moultrie; daughter, Helen C. Alexander and husband Dale of Sun City, Fla.; one sister, Ruth H. Clemons of Fitzgerald; four grandchildren, Lynn Paramore, Gwen Singley, Jeff Cooper and Kim Cooper; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 8, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Dennis Wyatt

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Funeral services with full military honors for Milton Dennis Wyatt, 71, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in the International Praise Church of God, 1516 Daulton Road, Columbia. The Rev. Doyle Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Columbia.

Mr. Wyatt died Friday afternoon, Feb. 6. Born in Moultrie, Ga., he was the son of the late Clarence and Zullie Wyatt. Mr. Wyatt had been a resident of Columbia since 1969. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving 23 years and was in the Vietnam War. He then retired after 10 years with the State of South Carolina. He was a member of the Dutchfork Masonic Lodge 402.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen Willis Wyatt; children, Karen Mathieu, Vicky Poarch, Darlene Boggs, Heidi Whetstine, William Wyatt and Richard Wyatt; brothers, Ronald Wyatt and Arthur Wyatt; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
