Clarice Spooner Tyler

DONALSONVILLE — Clarice Spooner Tyler, 71, of Donalsonville died Friday evening, April 23, 2004, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tyler was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Seminole County to the late Denver Spooner and Vada Spooner. She was married to John Alton Tyler, who preceded her in death on June 9, 2001. She had worked as a clerk and supervisor in the Department of Motor Vehicles for the State of Florida before returning to Donalsonville three years ago. She was a member of the Lions Club, the Winnebago Itasca Camping Club and the Crossroads Trails Camping Club. She was also an active member of the Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Grow Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Tyler is survived by her mother, Mrs. Vada Spooner of Donalsonville; two daughters, Elaine Taylor and her husband A.M. Taylor of Moultrie and Beverly Tyler Boyd of Tallahassee, Fla.; three sisters, Jane Lee of Cummings, Nan Floyd of Columbus and Susie Shingler of Donalsonville; two sisters-in-law, Marijane Scarborough of Donalsonville and Eunice Spooner of Athens; four grandchildren, Stacy Boyd, Lindsay Boyd, Alison Taylor and John Taylor; one great-grandchild, Caleb Curles; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tyler was preceded in death by her father, her husband and two brothers, Ray Spooner and Albert Spooner.

Bill Bateman

ALBANY — Bill Bateman, 56, of 1515 Broach Ave., Albany, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Baker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Earl Rice officiating, assisted by Michael Bateman. Burial will be at Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery in Cook County. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Penny Mitcham and Link Mitcham.

Mr. Bateman was born June 29, 1947, in Colquitt County, son of Nell Gay Bateman and the late Minor C. Bateman. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was retired from Procter and Gamble. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Thompson Bateman of Albany; his mother, Nell Gay Bateman of Moultrie; one brother, Larry C. Bateman and wife Wynelle of Hampton; one sister, Betty Mitcham and husband Penny of Warm Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, April 28, at Baker Funeral Home.

Wyolene Ophelia Blankenship Cotton

MOULTRIE — Wyolene Ophelia Blankenship Cotton, 77, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Sunrise Nursing Home.

A private graveside service will be held today, April 28, at Baker-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating.

‘Chase’ Livingston

CAIRO — Charles C. “Chase” Livingston III, 18, died Saturday, April 17, 2004.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, at Cornerstone Church of Christ in Thomasville with burial at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park in Tallahassee, Fla.

A candlelight service was held at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, at Fastrac Motocross, 1096 Sherman Road, Cairo, Ga.

He was born June 21, 1985, in Thomasville.

He is survived by his parents, Charles Jr. and Gail Parten Livingston; three sisters, Crystal and Chelsie Livingston and Brandy Sharpe; a brother, Kenneth Sharpe; his grandparents, Charles Sr. and Judy Livingston, W.C. and Carolyn Parten, and Raymond and Carol Flint; his great-grandmother, Charlie Mae Livingston; three nephews; a niece; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
