Youth football opens Thursday

MOULTRIE — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department’s football leagues for boys 7- and 8-years old and 9- and 10-years old will open on Thursday.

Games will be played through Oct. 25 at the Knuck McCrary Sports Complex.

The league for 7- and 8-year-olds will open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday with the Falcons playing the Titans, the Colts facing the Young Hawgs and the Little Giants playing the Georgia Boys.

The Young Bucs will open their season on Tuesday, Sept. 27, against the Titans.

The Colts, coached by Scott Hall, include Daniel Brinson, Jeffery Carnes, Joseph Gould, Kevin Hall, Gage Kent, Calvin Key, Brennen Monk, Bryce Newton, Jacob Plymel, Nicholas Schneider, Dakota Baker, Quandarious Ballard, Beau Dalton, Isaac Hall, Jykerious Henry, Cody Jenkins, Justin Thomas and Ryan Wallace.

The Little Giants, under coach Chris Johnson, include Michael Coates, Jacob Comer, Gabe Holston, Jordan Mock, Griffin Rigsby, Alavie Bailey, Zamious Bonner, Andrew Bridwell, Louis Comer, Austin Cox, Charles Culver, Zackery Henderson, Alex Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Sam Key, Drew Merritt, Colby Scarbrough and Jacob Hilton.

Darrell Moore is coaching the Georgia Boys. His team includes Eason Adams, Jaquain Blakely, Brock McCroy, Tykevious Phillips, Hayden Suggs, Joshua Swartz, Demetrius Walker, Landon White, Timothy Clay, Bailey Curles, Houston Massey, Garrett Moore, Ty Smith, Braden Traylor, Jonathan Vickers, Tristan Wells, Brandon Wynn and Noah Moore.

The Falcons, coached by Charles Scott, include Kirkland Flanders, Johnari Green, Victor Johnson, Quan McCastle, Cameron Newsome, Landon Scott, Jasper Shepard, Savonta Slaughter, Jaquan Thomas, Ulysses Upshaw, Dontae Barfield, Cory Glow, Joshua Key, Alexander Lewis, Theodrick Martin, Dzodrick Thompson, Artavius Thurman and Russell Tucker.

Billy Jackson is coaching the Young Hawgs. His players include Justin Bass, XyQwantis Blakley, Derry Jarvis, John Keith, John Lewis, Joaquin Torres, Tom Woods, Nicholas Amador, Johnny Grant, Antonio Harper, Michael Johnson, Garrett Jones, Daniel Lewis, Khalifa Moore, Cody Nicholas, Davis Harrell, Drew Davis and Dethameyus Barge.

Kevin Pollard’s Young Bucs include Nick Anno, David Conner, Christopher Dixon, Travis Gay, Kiontae Green, Patrick Jordan, Qwanzavia Lee, Jamie Morgan, Josh Morgan, Cedric Roberts, Kameron Robinson, Michael Benton, Shaun Bonner, Ian Green, Nick Harper, Alex Jordan, Kiel Pollard and Adam Singley.

The Wayne Bryant-coached Titans include Jadin Barnes, Kodi Bishop, Tamjia DeBruce, Jamie Hurst, Cody Mullis, Gabe Parker, Ricky Rivera, Latravious Thomas, Taylor Walker, Cole Bryant, Tyler Cook, Franklin Daughtry, Arden Hall, Ryan Pipkin, Will Roberts, Courtney Terrell and Christopher Trammell.

The league for 9- and 10-year olds will play its games at 6:30 p.m. at the Knuck McCrary Complex. The season will open on Thursday with the Packers meeting the Seminoles, the Bulldogs playing the Falcons and the Baby Rams facing the Hawgs.

The Packers are coached by Joey Hathcock. His players are Devin Smith, Anderson Glenn, Mack Hathcock, Christopher Hayes, JaNarrian Lewis, Garrett Pearce, Travis Register, Chad Smith, Cameron Boyd, Daren Kent, Tyler Shaw, Kishawn Taylor, Aaron Franks, John Gray, Parker Hoes, Dontavious Jackson, Cameron Johnson, Zatavius Lewis, Gabe Mobley, Jay Tolbert and Cason Wells.

David Nixon is coaching the Bulldogs. His players include Nicholas Mobley, Clayton Brown, Tyren Grant, Tariek McNeal, Ryan Branson, Jonathan Grant, Kyle Turner, Rakeem Hightower, Toddarian Boyd, Marviq Edwards, Erik Garcia, Kiarron Hendry, Taylor Horne, Austin Hunnicutt, D.J. Henry Lee is back to coach the Baby Rams.
